2 - My Bio
- Born and raised near Venice, Italy, in a family of painters, musicians and photographers, I began taking pictures over 30 years ago. I used 35mm, medium and large format cameras to mostly photograph Nature, people and architecture. I built my own darkroom where I pulled black and white and Cibachrome color prints.
- In 1990, after having moved to New York, I began working with scanners and imaging software. I purchased my first digital camera in 1999 and converted completely to digital in 2004. Today, I use a high resolution, professional DSLR system, Epson large format printers with archival inks and papers, and a state-of-the-art image processing workflow to make the most beautiful images I can. This medium also allows me to create digital paintings from my own photographs using different original techniques.
- I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and visit the digital photography trade shows held in the New York area. I participate in the best educational events organized by the trade and spend significant time doing research and experimentation. I provide consulting and training; scanning; photo reproduction; image processing, restoration and retouching; fine art printing; promo material design and printing; and web design services to photographers and 2D/3D artists. A teacher and a lecturer, I present at photo clubs and art societies. I participate in gallery shows and in most of the leading art festivals in the Northeast. I have been published in the US, Europe and Australia and have won my share of awards in the US and Europe. In 2000, I was featured on public television's Channel 13.
